If you are like many reef keepers, you’ve been mourning the loss of Cyclop-eeze. Well we’ve got some great new products that you will love just as much or more! We’ve also got some tips for how to help sick fish, and want to introduce you to one of the best heaters on the market. And of course, we will take some time to honor July’s Fish of the Month, the Bumblebee Cat!
The won pro heat titanium heating tube and digital temperature controller is the perfect heater for large tanks and ponds. The pro-heat digital display is accurate to a single degree. The titanium is corrosive resistant and unbreakable, and comes with grounded cables. |
Have you ever heard someone recommend adding salt to a freshwater aquarium? It may seem crazy, but adding a rounded teaspoon of salt for every 5 gallons can help lower the stress level of sick fish. |
PE Calanus is the best replacement for Cyclopeeze on the market. Calanus finmarchicus, a copepod native to Norway, contains the same carotenoids and astaxanthin that made Cyclopeeze so nutritious. PE Calanus comes in a twin pack with PE Mysis. |
Zoo Med’s Can O’ Cyclops is a great food for small fish in both fresh and saltwater aquariums. In freshwater aquariums, this is a great option for fry, as well as picky eaters, such as kilifish. In your reef tank, corals, shrimp and other inverts, and small fish will love this great treat. |
The bumblebee catfish is a shy, but personable fish. It is a great bottom feeder for a tank of 20 gallons or larger. While the bumblebee cat is nocturnal, it can be lured out of its hiding place during the day with food. While generally peaceful, the bumbebee catfish may eat tank mates that can fit in its wide mouth. This omnivore is not picky, and will gladly eat pellets, frozen and freeze-dried food.
